According to a source close with the team, left-handed reliever and 2015 Eastern League All-Star Robby Scott’s locker has been cleaned out and he has been promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Scott has appeared in 29 games (including two starts) between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket this season, compiling a 2-1 record with a 2.18 ERA while striking out 51 in 53 2/3 innings.

With many former Sea Dogs making major contributions at the Triple-A and Major League levels, Scott makes sure to keep himself prepared for the moment his name is called.

“That’s what it’s all about, seeing guys have that opportunity. You got to be able to put yourself in the best possible position to succeed and be ready for that opportunity when your name is called, and hopefully that opportunity comes,” Scott said in early April.

Before the promotion, Scott was elected to his second consecutive Eastern League All-Star Classic, which was hosted at Hadlock Field in Portland, ME on Wednesday, July 15.

The 25-year old Miami, FL native was also voted an Arizona Fall League All-Star last season.

“Having that opportunity, being selected for [last year’s] All-Star game was really cool,” he said. “Something that I will always remember, something that I will look back on when my playing career is over.”

“Between being in the All-Star game last year in the Eastern League and then having the opportunity to play in the All-Star game in the Fall League was awesome…it’s one of those things where you get to reward yourself for your efforts, for the work you put in throughout your time…hopefully I can be on an All-Star team at [every] level.”

Scott was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Boston Red Sox in 2011, purchasing his contract from the independent Yuma club of the North American League. In 115 career appearances in the minors, Scott holds a 15-8 record with a 2.10 ERA while striking out nearly three times as many batters as he has walked.
